About Springbyker/Sobre Springbyker

Feminist QBLTG Left grammarian & general crank.  Love grassroots political movements, literature, independent film, bicycling, good vegetarian food, and traveling in Latin America (header photo is a bike in Palermo, Buenos Aires).  I write about all of these, plus being a recovering clutterer, writing, and my latest obsessions. Have been studying Spanish on and off for decades. I’m an Argentinophile who doesn’t have enough time or money to visit as often as I’d like.

Congratulations! Read them all, enjoyed them all, especially the Argentine travel story and the Vegan ‘Cheese’ one. I look forward to seeing your film reviews.

–loved reading these posts. –will come back and read some more. The Argentina intrigue doesn’t surprise me. Your writing–as always–is lively, informative, engaging, and personal–in the best way.

I was at the ROCLA meeting last night. I refer you to a more definitive book about Milton Friedman and his doctrines: “Reality Ignored; how Milton Friedman and Chicago economics undermined American institutions and endangered the global economy”, by Kenneth M. Davidson, self-published. 2011 About $20 from Amazon

Having just read your Magical History Tour post, I wanted to come here and tell you again how much I enjoyed it, how moved I was and how much I am impressed by your use of every second of your time here in Argentina.
I hope you are able to get back here soon.

Thank you, Candice! Half of us caught colds because we didn’t sleep enough — we were definitely burning the candle at both ends.

I’ll be returning within the month, and I’m incredibly excited!

      Abrazos,
      Michele

  5. Love, love your blog, glad you found me. I am also a recovering clutterer, my father was born in Puerto Rico, speak so, so Spanish and write. I am ashamed to say I can’t swim or ride a bike. I can dance though. Aloha mi nueva amiga, voy a leer tu blog cada dia,

I noticed over the course of the semester that you’ve been reading very faithfully, which is a huge compliment! Your blog is great and I’ve enjoyed reading it as well. I’m now on my way home and on to new adventures, but it was always nice knowing that someone who loves Argentina as much as I do was watching. Thanks for reading!!

    • springbyker says:

Hi Haley! I’ve really enjoyed reading your posts and seeing your photos; it’s like being in Argentina vicariously. At this point I’m able to be there only a few weeks a year, so it’s great to read well-crafted posts about Buenos Aires and other places in my second-favorite country. Thank you so much, and good luck with your further adventures!
